Problems and Countermeasures in the Construction of Foreign Language Courses for Applied Universities under the “1+X” Certificate System

Abstract: In the context of economic globalization, there is an increasing demand for composite talents who possess both foreign language proficiency and professional knowledge in society. Schools face multiple challenges in the construction of professional foreign language courses. The “1+X” certificate system is an innovative measure to promote vocational colleges and applied undergraduate universities to enhance the professional skills and practical abilities of graduates, and provides guidance for the construction of professional foreign language courses. Based on the “1+X” certificate system, this article explores the problems and countermeasures in the selection of foreign language certificates, the construction of teaching staff, the development of teaching resources, and the expansion of practical bases in the process of professional foreign language course construction.
