Abstract: In recent years, the number of graduate students in STEM fields in China has been increasing. However, there have been concerns about the overall quality of their education. This can be attributed to issues with the graduate student admission system as well as the limitations of traditional teaching methods that fail to meet the demands of modern society. Therefore, it is necessary to explore new approaches to improve the quality of graduate education in STEM fields. The science and technology special envoy model, as a novel teaching approach, provides new opportunities and challenges for the training of graduate students in these disciplines. This paper aims to examine the application of the science and technology special envoy model in graduate education in STEM fields and its role in enhancing students'capabilities and improving the overall quality of education.
