Construction of Project-Based Curriculum System for Tourism Management in Applied Undergraduate Colleges and Universities

Abstract: In recent years, project-based teaching reform has become the core content and key links to the reform and development of higher education in China. Talent cultivation in universities needs to match the needs of enterprises, industries, and the times, and implementing a project-based approach is an important lever. This article takes Xiangtan Institute of Technology, an applied undergraduate institution, as an example to investigate and analyze the current situation of talent cultivation in tourism management under the background of gradually implementing project-based teaching reform. The “project-based” curriculum system is reconstructed, guided by market demand, and teaching reform is carried out from the aspects of curriculum positioning and goals, teaching content and methods, teaching evaluation and assessment methods, etc., in order to cultivate innovative and entrepreneurial, and applied talents.
