Abstract: :This article adopts literature analysis and online research methods to investigate the volunteer services of 137 “Double First Class” university libraries in China from the aspects of setting up volunteer service columns on the homepage of library websites and the current situation of volunteer services. The research results show that there are problems in the volunteer service work of “Double First Class” university libraries, such as insufficient emphasis on carrying out volunteer services, incomplete website homepage column settings, incomplete rules and regulations, monotonous volunteer service activities, and inadequate publicity. Based on this, a “Double First Class” optimization strategy for volunteer services in university libraries has been proposed: strengthening the construction of volunteer service webpage columns, continuously providing training for volunteers, improving the assessment and incentive mechanism for volunteer services, and strengthening the promotion of volunteer services.
