Abstract: Maker course is a new teaching concept which aims to cultivate students' core quality of "problem-oriented solution" through the practice of digital design and manufacturing. In this context, the reform and practice of the "mechanical engineering control fundamentals" curriculum started from two aspects of curriculum teaching and experimental teaching. In view of the existing problems in the current curriculum such as dull teaching methods, outdated teaching content, and outdated laboratory settings, we establishment of 3D printing experimental platforms, the combination of scientific research and teaching, and the development of more autonomous and diversified creative experiments have not only fully mobilized the enthusiasm of students in learning, but also integrated the foundations of the previous related courses such as single-chip technology and electrical engineering. The maker curriculum concept of "Learning by doing" is well implemented. At the same time, this teaching reform exploration has extremely high reference value for the promotion of other related professional curriculum reforms.
