Comparison and Enlightenment of Teaching Reform and Innovation in Basic Education Between China and the United States——An Investigation Report on Compulsory Education in the United States by 2017 Rural Leaders' Seminar in Jiangsu Province

Abstract: In April 2019, 29 principals from all parts of Jiangsu Province participated in the training of "special training program for education policy of rural leaders in Jiangsu Province". Through visiting and centralized training, we have a preliminary understanding of compulsory education in American primary and secondary schools. In the reform of basic education, we should insist on innovation in inheritance and breakthrough in sublation, learn from the advanced ideas and experience of American basic education, carry out breakthrough reform and innovation in basic teaching, optimize teaching environment from details, treat students fairly, fully respect and value students' self-confidence, encourage individual development and creativity, and open up their imaginative creativity. This paper analyzes the differences between the basic education of China and the United States, and has a deeper understanding of the basic education reform.
