Study on Factors Affecting the Digital Literacy of Open University Teachers

Abstract: Continuously enhancing teachers'digital literacy is of great significance in building a high-quality and professional teacher team in the digital era. This study selects 434 open university teachers as the research subjects, taking teachers'digital intentions as the dependent variable, and constructing the influencing factors of digital characteristics, personal characteristics as the independent variables. Logit binary regression is used for empirical analysis. The research results show that digital awareness has a significant positive impact on teachers'digital intentions; digital technology knowledge and skills, and digital application significantly affect teachers'active learning and use of digital technology resources; professional development significantly affects teachers'digital intentions; gender and age have a significant negative impact on teachers'digital intentions, while age and title only significantly affect teachers'digital practice, exploration, and innovation ability. Based on these findings, this study proposes strategies to enhance open university teachers'digital literacy, hoping to provide reference for accelerating the improvement of teachers'digital literacy and building a high-quality, professional, and innovative teacher team.
