Abstract: The China international“Internet +”college students'innovation and entrepreneurship competition is the most authoritative and important event for college students. The competition provides an important platform for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform for universities. The outcomes of competition largely depend on whether the participating teams can actively participate in the entire process of the competition. Stimulating and maintaining the intrinsic motivation of participating teams is the key to improving their competition performance. Here we aim to investigate causes and countermeasures for insufficient motivation among local medical college students to participate in the competitions’program training based on ARCS theory on four dimensions: attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. An novel ARCS motivation model was also constructed for medical students to analyze their motivation in competitions.
