Exploration on the Teaching Reform of English Instructional Design Based on OBE Theories

Abstract: English instructional design is a compulsory course for undergraduates majoring in English education. From the perspective of OBE theories, this paper discusses the teaching reform practice of English instructional design and proposes that the effective way to improve the core quality and comprehensive level of undergraduate students majoring in English education is to formulate talent cultivation goals and course objectives based on the needs of society as well as the graduation ability indicator system of the course. A mixed online and offline teaching mode centering on “goals, activities, and evaluation”must also be adopted and a new assessment and evaluation system should be constructed.
