Abstract: As reserve talents for implementing innovation driven development strategies, the cultivation of innovative abilities among college students is particularly important. This study uses a national survey competition project as a research case to explore how to leverage the positive effects of student-faculty interaction and enhance college students'innovation ability. Research has found that students'spontaneity is the foundation of student-teacher interaction; The differences in students'expectations and initiative towards themselves result in significant differences in their participation process and effectiveness; Teachers pay more attention to the research project itself, and the frequency of interaction may vary depending on individual differences among students. Overall, scientific research participation promotes substantive student-faculty interaction, enhancing the innovation ability of college students. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the participation and support of students, teachers and society in scientific research projects.
