Research on Strategies for Improving Teaching Skills of Young Teachers in Civil Engineering Based on OBE Concept

Abstract: The Outcome-Based Education (OBE) concept, which focuses on the cultivation of students'ability, is one of the main concepts for the talent cultivation and educational reform of civil engineering major in colleges and universities. As the main implementer of talent cultivation and educational reform, the level of young teachers' teaching skills has a significant impact on the application effect of the OBE concept. This article addresses the current situation of young teachers in some universities lacking teaching skills, the relationship between teaching skills, teaching reform effect and professional development of youth teachers is elaborated from the aspects of OBE's demand for teaching skills, competence in teaching work, formation of teaching characteristics and improvement of professional level. Then, from the perspectives of ideological enhancement, training system improvement, demonstration effect of famous teachers and teaching research team, it gives the methods for youth teachers to improve their teaching skills, which has certain reference significance for the professional development of youth teachers in colleges and universities.
