Abstract: In order to cultivate compound design talents with innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities, this paper explored competency-oriented and project-based teaching methods under the guidance of student-centered teaching philosophy. Based on the analysis of the current teaching problems of design management courses, it is proposed to integrate knowledge modules into project tasks, and make full use of three advantages of the project-based teaching method: meeting divergent learning requirements, supporting flexible forms of teaching, and obtaining well-defined outcomes. According to the structure of innovation and entrepreneurship ability, the teaching content, teaching process and evaluation system of the course are explored and practiced, which effectively improves the innovation and entrepreneurship ability of students in design.
