Abstract: With the deepening of the reform of physical education and the development, many colleges and universities to open a martial arts such as sports, and the form of a special class, get the favour of many students, but in the martial arts to carry out the process, due to the influence of various factors, students' cognitive ability in martial arts and sports skills shortage, and has certain gap between the actual requirements of martial arts courses, there are some problems in the course teaching. This paper finds out the existing problems from the current situation of the special course of wushu in colleges and universities, and takes corresponding countermeasures to promote the vigorous development of the special course of wushu in physical education in colleges and universities.
