Abstract: As a specialized core course of electronic information and communication majors, electromagnetic field and wave is the important link between basic courses and specialized courses, but because of its abstract concept and complex formula, which has a reputation for being difficult to teach and learn. In this paper, combine with the professional requirements and the characteristics of course,taking "establishing morality and cultivating people" as the fundamental starting point and foothold, the development history and the applications of electromagnetic field and wave is integrated into theory teaching, and the professional quality education is integrated into the practice teaching. This not only improves the students' learning enthusiasm and score, but also cultivates students' professional awareness, patriotism and mission, and thus students' theoretical knowledge and ideological quality are both improved.
