Exploration of the “Streaming” Teaching Model in the Curriculum Reform of Introduction to Economics for Higher Vocational Education—Case Study of Suzhou Centennial College

Abstract: Introduction to economics is a long-standing foundational course offered by business schools in higher vocational colleges. Taking this course at Suzhou Centennial College Business School as an example, this paper explores how to reform the economics foundation curriculum under the guidance of the“streaming”educational philosophy based on existing research. Through investigation, the paper has clarified the necessity of streaming education,analyzes existing issues in the introduction to economics curriculum and proposes solutions from four dimensions: objectives, content, teaching methods, and assessment. The study aims to provide reference for reforming theoretical traditional business courses in higher vocational institutions.
