Abstract: The reform of data mining courses for new engineering focuses on enhancing students'innovation and practical abilities. The main measures are: guided by the STEAM educational philosophy, reconstructing an interdisciplinary curriculum knowledge system; based on project-based teaching and AI empowerment, reshape the teaching mode of the curriculum; based on the Educoder online experimental platform, carry out data mining practices throughout the entire lifecycle; integrate typical cases of national smart education platforms and self built resource libraries to develop course resources that accurately support students' knowledge construction; based on the whole process learning portrait and data storytelling report, construct an evidence-based evaluation system for learning outcomes throughout the entire process. Teaching reform can effectively enhance students'practical application ability and innovative thinking, providing a reference implementation path for curriculum teaching reform and the cultivation of outstanding engineering talents under the background of new engineering construction.
