Action Research on a College English Teaching Model Integrating Reading and Writing Based on Shared Knowledge and Cognitive Theories

Abstract: Against the backdrop of new liberal arts construction, college English teaching should enhance students'comprehensive English abilities in multiple aspects. Based on the cognitive process of the interconnection between English reading and writing and the shared knowledge system, taking college English teaching as the breakthrough point, a new curriculum teaching model is proposed from four dimensions, and an action research lasting one year is carried out. The research results show that this model can effectively enhance college students'interest in learning reading and writing, boost their confidence in autonomous learning, improve their English reading and writing abilities, and also contribute to the cultivation of their comprehensive using abilities, providing a reference for the college English reading and writing teaching.
