Abstract: This article delves into the importance and strategies of cultivating students'self-directed learning ability in modern industrial engineering courses at the graduate level. Firstly, it emphasizes the importance of self-directed learning ability for industrial engineering students, and then elaborates on specific strategies for cultivating students'self-directed learning ability in modern industrial engineering graduate courses, including setting clear learning goals to guide direction, setting reasonable tasks to enhance skills, encouraging exploration and innovation to tap potential, and giving appropriate evaluations to stimulate learning enthusiasm. Through the implementation of these strategies, the aim is to build a student-centered teaching model that emphasizes practice and innovation, providing references for modern industrial engineering curriculum teaching.
