Abstract: With the continuous development of applied undergraduate education, the traditional teaching model of sensor and detection technology faces numerous challenges. Based on the“five practical”education model, this paper conducts an in-depth analysis of current pain points in course teaching, such as abstract theoretical knowledge, students'insufficient ability to integrate knowledge, and limitations of single evaluation methods. A series of innovative ideas and measures are proposed. By optimizing teaching content, innovating teaching methods, strengthening practical teaching, and organically integrating ideological and political elements, a three-tiered project-based teaching system (foundation layer, application layer, and innovation layer) has been constructed, achieving the innovation of competition-based assessment models. Practice shows that these reform measures have effectively enhanced students'learning interest, practical abilities, and comprehensive qualities, providing valuable references for curriculum reform in the context of applied undergraduate education.
