Abstract: In response to the current situation where college English teaching is disconnected from social needs and the teaching mode is single, a professional talent cultivation based on industry-university-research projects is proposed. On the basis of analyzing the current situation of English teaching in Chinese universities, this article points out the shortcomings of traditional teaching models. Subsequently, the core concepts and advantages of online offline integration and industry-university-research projects were elaborated. Finally, a series of feasible reform measures were proposed, including strengthening the construction of the teacher team, enhancing cooperative education, carrying out diversified project practices, and updating teaching methods. Research has found that these pathways are beneficial for breaking through teaching barriers, integrating teaching resources, improving students'comprehensive English application and cross-cultural communication abilities, and comprehensively enhancing the quality of college English teaching.
