Abstract: With the deepening and implementation of education reform, higher education is developing rapidly. As a public welfare activity, art benefits the people and plays an important role in promoting social and cultural soft power. Music major students are the main group of art major education in colleges and universities, and they are also the direct recipients of innovative teaching practice of college music major. Under the background of art benefiting the people, for the innovative education practice of music majors in colleges and universities, art benefiting the people activities build a bridge of communication with the public, and build a practical platform for teaching achievements. Therefore, for the teaching of music majors in colleges and universities, it is a necessary condition and important goal to realize innovative education to grasp the diversified educational opportunities brought by art to benefit the people.
