Reform and Thinking of the Graded Teaching of Public Basic Courses in Application-Oriented Universities

Abstract: Implementing hierarchical teaching in basic courses in colleges and universities is an effective teaching organizational form to carry out the educational concept of“teaching according to students'aptitude”and“student-centered”education, and to improve the quality of public basic courses. It plays an important supporting role in consolidating students'foundation in mathematics, physics, and English, and for subsequent professional stage learning. This paper analyzes the concept and implementation plan of hierarchical and differentiated teaching in basic courses, summarizes the experience and practice of Zhiyuan School of Liberal Arts in implementing hierarchical and differentiated teaching in basic courses, and proposes reform ideas for differentiated teaching.
