Research on the Problems and Countermeasures of Cultivating Nursing English Application Ability under the Background of New Medicine

Abstract: The new medical concept has set higher standards for the cultivation of medical talents in universities. College English is a fundamental course in higher education and a key part of higher medical education. This article analyzes the reasons for the weak professional application ability of nursing undergraduate students from four aspects: students, teachers, English learning environment, and cultural differences between China and foreign countries. It proposes improvement measures in building a campus English learning environment, offering all English teaching courses, improving teaching methods, paying attention to cultural differences between China and the West, and establishing an assessment and evaluation mechanism based on coordinated development of knowledge, ability, and quality, in order to cultivate applied talents with solid English language foundation, essential traditional Chinese medicine foundation, and high proficiency in traditional Chinese medicine English.
