Abstract: With the evolution of the global economic integration pattern, the importance of English as the universal language for international communication is becoming increasingly prominent. Vocational colleges are important bases for cultivating applied and practical talents in China. The professional competence and teaching research ability of English teachers directly affect the effectiveness of talent cultivation in vocational colleges. The new era has put forward higher requirements for the core competence of English teachers in vocational colleges. Practicing the GROW coaching mindset is crucial for English teachers in vocational colleges to enhance their professional level and core competencies, as well as an important part of strengthening the level of English education in vocational colleges. This article proposes a core competency cultivation strategy for vocational English teachers to practice GROW coaching thinking, in order to help them continuously improve their professional level and better complete vocational English education tasks.
