Research and Practice of Case Teaching in College Mathematics Course

Abstract: Case-based teaching is one of the important means to achieve practical results in college mathematics courses. The design idea and principle of case, the development and construction of case base and the reasonable selection of case are the key that affect the success of case teaching. This question expounds the concrete implementation process of integrating case teaching into classroom teaching, and gives specific assessment plans. Through the questionnaire survey of students, it is found that the vast majority of students hold a positive attitude towards case teaching. The practical results also show that the performance of the practice group using case teaching is significantly higher than that of the control group, reflecting that the case teaching makes students have a deeper understanding of mathematical methods and mathematical ideas, and their ability to solve practical engineering problems and mathematical modeling has been significantly improved.
