Abstract: The construction of new engineering disciplines is an important talent training project for the reform of higher engineering education in China. There is a certain coupling between the construction of new engineering disciplines and innovation and entrepreneurship education. Applied undergraduate colleges actively adapt to the needs of technological revolution and industrial development, combine with regional development characteristics, practice the main task of new engineering construction, and play the role of talent cultivation in universities. This article takes engineering majors in undergraduate universities as the research object, and combines the teaching situation in the past five years. It proposes a practical approach of“one main line, four integrations”, with professional talent cultivation as the main line, integrating“project driven, competition course integration, mentor guidance, and co construction platform”, to jointly carry out practical exploration of innovation and entrepreneurship courses. Practice has proven that this model is suitable for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship education in new engineering majors in applied undergraduate universities, and plays an important role in promoting the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents in universities.
