Abstract: Science and engineering colleges are important talent training bases for national and regional economic development and strategic emerging industry development, and interdisciplinary research is of great significance in promoting talent cultivation, technological innovation, and social progress. However, the current cross disciplinary model between science and engineering and medical disciplines is single, and the integration of systematic talent cultivation is insufficient. The industry university research transformation chain has not yet formed. How to effectively carry out collaborative education in new medical disciplines in science and engineering colleges has become the current focus of attention. The Medical Department of Kunming University of Science and Technology is committed to the“three collaborations”of management, curriculum, and teachers, as well as the“three advancements”of teaching system, resource construction, and evaluation mechanism. It continuously achieves the “three improvements” of educational philosophy, teaching ability, and educational effectiveness, actively exploring and practicing a new medical education system that integrates medical and engineering.
