Reform and Practice of GIS Course Teaching for Higher Vocational Tourism Majors Based on CDIO Teaching Philosophy

Abstract: In order to cultivate GIS technology skills for vocational tourism students, meet the development needs of the smart tourism industry, and achieve high-quality and full employment of vocational education talents, this article addresses the shortcomings of traditional teaching methods, based on the endogenous logic of CDIO education concepts and the characteristics of GIS courses, reconstructs the GIS course content for vocational tourism majors, adopts the CDIO engineering project cycle teaching mode, and establishes a diversified value-added evaluation system. Reform practice has proven that after the reform, students'personal professional skills and literacy, teamwork and communication skills have been improved.
