Abstract: The advent of the fourth scientific and technological revolution and the rapid development of a new generation of optoelectronic information technology have put forward new requirements for cultivating innovative and technical graduate students in electronic information fields. As an essential guarantee for cultivating engineering and technological talents with vital innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities for economic and social development, new engineering is an important foundation for developing high-tech industries in our country during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. This paper takes the microfluidic chip technology and application course as an example, it analyzes the problems in the current traditional engineering course under the guidance of the characteristics and requirements in the construction of new engineering. On this basis, combined with the characteristics and advantages of the major in the fields of marine, marine, and environmental engineering, we propose the implementation path to improve the teaching effect from three aspects: course content, teaching method, and assessment method. The relevant results provide a reference for optimizing the teaching mode by combining theory and practice under the new engineering background, furthermore, it also improves postgraduates' training quality and talent competitiveness in information and communication technology.
