Abstract: Feed engineering is a new undergraduate specialty added in 2021, it is a cross-integrated specialty based on animal science under the background of new engineering construction, and more inclined to the cultivation of engineering ability. Henan University of Technology, one of the first two universities to recruit undergraduates majoring in feed engineering, should further optimize the training program and curriculum system of feed engineering, focusing on student development, should strengthen the cultivation of students'practice and innovation ability, and contribute to the cultivation of high-quality and high-ability feed engineering talents. Animal Nutrition is the main course of required courses for both animal science and feed engineering majors, but there are some differences in the training objectives between the two majors. In order to make the course of animal nutrition better adapt to the training requirements for feed engineering majors, the course construction and optimization of animal nutrition in feed engineering specialty are put forward.
