Research on Cultivating Maker Mindset of Higher Vocational Students based on Android and Arduino Platform

Abstract: The cultivation of maker mindset is the trend of the development of Internet of Things specialty in Higher Vocational Colleges in the future. In view of the current situation of the cultivation of the maker thinking of the students majoring in Internet of things in higher vocational colleges,this paper puts forward an educational mode of cultivating the creative thinking of the students majoring in Internet of Things in Higher Vocational Colleges by constructing an interest-oriented experimental platform of Aduino and Android. The benefits of developing Internet of Things applications using Arduino and App Inventor platforms are discussed. The effect of building the Internet of Things platform to cultivate students' maker mindset is introduced. Practice has proved that the establishment of the experimental platform is effective for higher vocational students to learn Internet of Things technology, especially to cultivate students' maker mindset.
