Abstract: “Continuation theory” holds that language is learned by continuing, which provides a breakthrough for language learning. Based on the method of empirical study, this research aims to examine the effect of teaching listening by comparing the experimental classes with those control classes through different ways of interactive input guided by the theory of continuation. The research found that different situational input has direct impact on students’ listening performance. And the synergistic effect of experimental classes are significantly better than the control classes in terms of pronunciation, grammar and word-building.
