Abstract: The reform and the implementation of the discipline competition promote the development of the management system in private higher education, which is accordance with its self-development requirements in transformation development. In Guangdong Ocean University Cunjin College, with the performing of the management system, the tertiary management system meeting the requirements of its self-development was constructed, improving the management and incentive system in discipline competition. For the competition events, classified management was adopted to optimize the structure of the management events, and comprehensive and designing classes focusing on discipline competition were set up, accomplishing the combination of the first and second classroom teaching. Overall, the establishment of the management system of discipline competition facilitated the development of discipline competition, and demonstrated that discipline competition is an effective way to cultivate students’ innovation abilities, and improve the quality of higher education.
