Abstract: The continuous deepening of economic globalization and the rapid development of artificial intelligence have presented new challenges to the construction of English majors in colleges and universities. How to cultivate English major graduates with both international vision and employability is an urgent problem for colleges and universities. The traditional translation teaching model is clearly unable to meet the new talent cultivation needs, therefore translation teaching should shift from one-way knowledge transmission to multi-dimensional ability cultivation. The Scaffolding Instruction based on Lev Vygotsky's “zone of proximal development”(ZPD) has significant guiding value for the cultivation of students'critical thinking, creative expression, and dialectical thinking. This paper, based on the teaching practice of five-step instructional cycle of scaffolding and fading, studies the construction of a three-level translation thinking model at the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels, and explores its practical application value.
