Discussion on the Teaching Reform Mode of Building Fire Prevention under the Background of New Engineering

Abstract: Under the background of the construction of new engineering disciplines, building fire protection, as a traditional engineering course, fails to fully meet the demands of the times in aspects such as training objectives, curriculum systems, and teaching methods, making the reform of the teaching mode of this course inevitable. By analyzing the teaching practice of the building fire protection course, it was discovered that there are some weak points in the teaching process, including the poor timeliness of teaching materials, the singularity of teaching methods, the lag of practical teaching, and the imperfection of the teaching evaluation system. The reasons for the emergence of these weak points were dissected, and improvement suggestions were proposed from four aspects: innovating teaching methods, strengthen teacher team building, establishing a practical teaching platform, and perfecting the assessment and evaluation mode.
