Abstract: With the popularization of artificial intelligence technology and the strong demand for talents, artificial intelligence courses are playing an increasingly important role in the talent cultivation of application-oriented universities. As China lists artificial intelligence as a national strategy and a technology with priority for development, it also puts forward higher requirements for the teaching of artificial intelligence courses in application-oriented universities, especially experimental teaching. This article expounds the reform and innovation of the experimental teaching design model of artificial intelligence courses in universities from three aspects: Firstly, introduce mainstream industrial application technologies to design experimental links, so that students can learn the mainstream tools and AI technology frameworks currently used in the industry. Secondly, guide students to use advanced AI generation tools such as ChatGPT to assist in experiments, cultivate their ability to use advanced AI tools and hands-on ability that conforms to the future productivity development trend. Thirdly, the experimental teaching link serves as a training course for subject competitions, laying a solid foundation for students and stimulating their interest in participating.
