Abstract: The experimental course of general geology is a compulsory course for first-year geography students, and its teaching quality directly affects the teaching effectiveness of other professional courses in the future. With the continuous development of geography teaching in China, the traditional experimental teaching model can no longer meet the needs of teaching reform. Therefore, actively carrying out experimental teaching reform has become an important issue that urgently needs to be studied and solved. According to the“golden course”standard and in response to the existing problems and drawbacks, this article reforms the teaching objectives, content, methods, and assessment system of general geology, attempting to provide a more reasonable and scientific research perspective and operational model for the practice of compulsory experimental courses in geography majors.
