Research Activities, Organizational Mode and the Cultivation of Innovative Capability of High-Quality Graduate Students—Fuzzy-Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis Based on 31 Provinces in China

Abstract: Based on research activities and organizational mode, this paper constructs an organizational mechanism model for cultivating graduate students'innovative capability, and uses the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis method to conduct an empirical analysis of data from 31 provinces in China. The study found that: (1) none of the five conditional variables derived from research activities and organizational mode alone constitute the necessary conditions for explaining graduate students'innovation capability; (2) under the guidance of research activities, the internal resources of the organization, with university teachers actively engaged in research activities as the core conditions, can be coupled with external resources of the organization to form organizational practices conducive to the cultivation of high-quality graduate students'innovative capabilities; (3) university teachers actively engaged in research activities are the core condition for achieving effective coupling of internal and external resources within the organization.
