Abstract: The major of furniture design and engineering is an interdisciplinary major, which has both the dual attributes of science and art, and conforms to the dual requirements of the country for new engineering and aesthetic education. Practice teaching is an important link of talent training. Taking Southwest Forestry University as an example, under the guidance of “three aspects of education”, through exploring ideological and political elements and aesthetic education resources contained in practice teaching, and utilizing the whole process of practice teaching, the new paradigm of talent training is explored from the aspects of constructing curriculum system, optimizing teaching content, innovating teaching mode, carrying out discipline competition and establishing school-enterprise platform. To construct a practical teaching system combining “ideological and political education + aesthetic education + professional education”, so as to lay a foundation for training multidisciplinary innovative talents in design, and achieve the goal of training diversified practical talents.
