Research on Innovative Teaching Design of Mathematical Modeling Course Based on Collaboration of Teaching and Competition

Abstract: This article mainly studies the innovative teaching design of mathematical modeling courses based on the collaboration of classroom teaching and subject competition. The aim is to enhance classroom teaching efficiency and enable students to attain a better understanding of essential mathematical modeling theories and methods as well as improving their ability to apply the knowledge they have learned to solve practical problems. The important factors in the innovative teaching design of mathematical modeling course were mainly discussed, such as the determination of teaching concepts and objectives, selection of teaching content, integration of curriculum ideology and politics, design of teaching process and methods, formulation of assessment and feedback, evaluation of teaching effectiveness, etc. Finally, a teaching case of the course“long shot throwing”was given as an example.
