Abstract: Mechanical principles is a very important basic compulsory course for mechanical majors, and plays a crucial role in cultivating students’core abilities such as analysis, design, synthesis, and innovation. In response to problems in curriculum content, student learning motivation, and teacher thinking, the curriculum team, on the basis of clarifying the training objectives for applied talents in the field of machinery, combined with the characteristics of the courses in the field of machinery, adhered to the principle of taking students as the center, taking abilities as the core, and taking needs as the center, and carried out restructuring of teaching content and activities driven by the dual core of project tasks and subject competitions rebuild the“triple”teaching innovation practice of the evaluation system, make full use of rich teaching resources such as MOOC, smart classrooms, learning centers platform, college student practice bases, laboratories, and collaborative innovation centers, create a multi-dimensional teaching content of“three libraries and one textbook”, adopt diversified teaching methods, achieve the extension of traditional classrooms in both time and space dimensions, and effectively improve teaching effectiveness and talent cultivation effectiveness.
