Problems and Improvement Measures of College Students Participating in the Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program

Abstract: As a platform for cultivating college students’ability of innovation and entrepreneurship, undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship training program has been widely implemented in colleges and universities in China. It is of great significance to deepen the teaching reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, strengthen college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship practice, and cultivate applied "innovation and entrepreneurship" talents. The School of Materials Science and Engineering of Sichuan University of Science and Engineering has carries out the innovation and entrepreneurship training program for college students through the four-level system of "State-Province-University-School". At present, however, there are some problems, such as "Attaching importance to outcome rather than process", more innovation projects and less entrepreneurship projects. We have explored and improved the source and member composition mechanism of the undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship training program, and established the project assessment system and other measures, shared relevant experience and provided reference for other universities to carry out innovation and entrepreneurship practice.
