Abstract: Ideological and political education as an important part of higher education has a profound influence on the development of students. With the development of the Internet and the advent of the 5G era, higher education should pay more attention to the political and ideological consciousness of college students, especially engineering students. This is due to the characteristics of their disciplines, which are slightly insufficient in the cultivation of socialist core values. Therefore, in the 5G era, the education of socialist core values for engineering students is particularly important. For this reason, it is necessary to make full use of network tools, explore new ways of socialist core values education, effectively integrate high-quality educational resources, and strengthen the education of the core values of socialism for engineering students.
