Practice of Ideological and Political Education under the Perspective of Service Learning——Taking Public Welfare Courses of Shantou University as an Example

Abstract: Service learning is a kind of education mode that combines the classroom teaching and community service. Taking the public welfare course of Shantou University as an example, this paper explores the new path of ideological and political education practice from the perspective of service learning, and explores the practice of ideological and political education of public welfare course from three aspects: goal setting, community service and students' reflection. It indicates the significance of philanthropic course in improving college students' ideological and ethical quality, creating a new model of ideological and political education, and promoting social harmony.
