Abstract: In order to promote the development of academic disciplines and talent cultivation in applied colleges and universities, and to build an all-round model of cultivation, the strategy of cultivating innovation and entrepreneurship ability under academic competitions is explored. Based on the importance of academic competitions to the cultivation of talents, and taking Chengdu Technological University mechanical specialties as an example, an all-round cultivation mechanism dominated by "Internet plus" competitions is proposed, and an innovation and entrepreneurship talents cultivation strategy in terms of grade-by-grade cultivation, school competition selection, reward mechanism, dual-creation collaboration and project guidance is formed, with remarkable results. It provides an effective way and reference for applied colleges and universities to carry out the development strategy of "mass entrepreneurship and mass innovation".
