A Survey of College Students' Mobile Phone Dependence and Its Relationship with Depression——Take S University as An Example

Abstract: In order to understand the mobile phone dependence of s university students and explore the relationship between mobile phone dependence and depression. Using Mobile Phone Addiction Index Scale(MPAI) and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS), 401 students in s University were investigated. The results showed that the average score of MPAI was 35.43 ± 11.06. There are no significant differences in gender, grade, household registration, only child, nationality, student cadre and love. College students with different mobile phone use time have significant differences in MPAI scores. The scores of high and low mobile phone dependence groups on SDS are significantly different. There is a significant correlation between SDS and MPAI total scale and each subscale.
