Analysis on the Effective Application of English Poetry in Extensive Reading Teaching

Abstract: With the development of the new era in our country, English education is increasingly applied to extensive reading in the teaching process to strengthen the effectiveness of English education. The integration of English poetry brings new opportunities and challenges to extensive reading teaching. At present, traditional teaching methods and students'attitudes are mostly adopted in English education to make English poetry more effective The application of songs in extensive reading teaching is not satisfactory. This paper discusses the current situation and characteristics of the use of English poetry, analyzes the effective use of English poetry in extensive reading teaching, stimulates students' interest and motivation in learning, and improves their English level.
