Abstract: Under the background of the construction of the new liberal arts, ordinary higher vocational colleges will train English majors to meet the needs of the development of the new era, as one of the important goals of the education reform, and focus on improving the innovative thinking and comprehensive quality of talents. Therefore, it is necessary to combine the current status and challenges of the training of English majors in higher vocational colleges, promote the optimization of the curriculum system, the strengthening of practical teaching links and the application of innovative teaching modes through the construction of diversified training paths, and help to explore a diversified talent training mode suitable for the construction of liberal arts, so as to realize the innovative development of education and the mutual empowerment of disciplines.
