Abstract: The construction of new liberal arts aims to promote the innovative development of liberal arts education, cultivate compound talents with Chinese characteristics and meet social needs. Local applied universities play an important role in this wave of reform. Chongqing University of Science and Technology, as a local applied university that has newly established Master of Public Administration (MPA) education, adheres to the requirements of new liberal arts construction, implements professional practice reform, improves education quality, and cultivates composite, practical, and management talents for society. On the basis of sorting out the background of MPA professional practice reform, this article summarizes the measures and achievements of Chongqing University of Science and Technology in promoting MPA professional practice reform, in order to provide reference for other universities'MPA professional practice reform and talent cultivation.
