Exploration of Teaching Reform in the Course of Solid Waste Treatment, Disposal, and Resource Utilization under the Background of the New Engineering Discipline

Abstract: This paper explores the educational reform of the course solid waste treatment, disposal, and resource utilization. Firstly, it introduces the importance of this course in the fields of environmental engineering and resource recycling science and engineering, as well as the challenges faced by traditional engineering education in the context of the new engineering discipline, highlighting the urgency of educational reform. Secondly, it analyzes the main issues existing in traditional teaching, including the emphasis on theory, limited teaching methods, disconnection from industry needs, lack of practical components, and incomplete assessment system. Subsequently, it proposes strategies for teaching reform, including updating course content, introducing innovative teaching methods, strengthening interdisciplinary learning, deepening industry-academic-research cooperation, and reforming the assessment system. Finally, it emphasizes that the implementation of these reform measures can effectively improve the teaching quality of the course, cultivate students'practical abilities and innovation awareness, and lay a solid foundation for their future career development.
